Responsibility & Mechanism:
- To look into the complaints lodged by any student/ faculty and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment.
- To ensure that the grievance has properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the competent authority.
- Promote cordial relationship among students and faculty/ staff members.
- The committee will review the grievances submitted to them by the Staff and Students and acts accordingly as per the Online Grievance Redressal Mechanism specified by AICTE.
- To make a follow-up of these matters at regular intervals till the grievances have been settled.
- To ensure confidentiality, if necessary.
Powers and Functions of the Committee
- Channelize the mechanism for grievance redressal of both student & faculties respectively.
- To ensure the quick, fair & impartial redressal of grievance.
- In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letter box/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell at Administrative Block. Grievances may also be sent through e-mail to the knipssenggsln@gmail.com
- Cell formally will review all cases and will prepare statistical reports about the number of cases received. The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

Sexual Harassement Committee
In conformity with Section 4 All India Council for Technical Education (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions) Regulations, 2016 vide no. F.AICTE/WH/2016/01 dated 10th June, 2016, KNIPSS, Engineering Institute has constituted the Sexual Harassement Committee also known as the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to ensure safety of women at workplace. The Committee ensures ‘Zero-Tolerance Policy’ for sexual harassment. Table 9.10 shows the Sexual Harassement Committee.Responsibility of the Committee
- Develop and provide education to the students, faculty and community on the prevention of sexual harassment.
- Maintain confidential records on all allegations of sexual harassment.
- Publicly notify the provisions against sexual harassment and ensure their wide-dissemination.
- To disseminate information about the penalty and consequences of sexual harassment, information on the mechanism for Redressal of complaints pertaining to sexual harassment and contact details of members of Internal Complaints Committee, complaints procedure and so on.
- Organise Training Programmes or as the case may be, workshops for the officers, functionaries, faculty and students, to sensitize them and ensure knowledge and awareness of the rights, entitlements and responsibilities enshrined in the Act and under this regulation.
- Act decisively against all gender based violence perpetrated against employees and students of all sexes recognising that primarily women employees and students and some male students and students of the third gender are vulnerable to to many forms of sexual harassment, humiliation and exploitation.
Powers and Functions of the Committee
- To ensure provision of a work and educational environment that is free from sexual harassment:
- To take all reasonable steps (active and preventive in nature) to prevent the harassment at work place.
- Obtain high level support from Director-Principal for implementing comprehensive strategy which includes:
- Develop a written policy which prohibits sexual harassment.
- Ensure that complaints processes:
- Are clearly documented;
- Are explained to all employees;
- Offer both informal and formal options for resolution;
- Address complaints in a manner which is fair, timely and confidential;
- Provide clear guidance on internal investigation procedures and record keeping;
- Give an undertaking that no employee will be victimized or disadvantaged for making a complaint.
